1. Feeding Accuracy Requirements
The carbonizer should accurately control the amount of graphite added according to the production process requirements, avoiding deviations in the carbon content of the molten metal due to overfeeding or underfeeding. For automated equipment, quantitative feeding, weighing, or flow control devices should be configured according to actual needs to ensure good repeatability of each feeding.
2. Conveying Stability Requirements
The equipment should be able to adapt to the conveying requirements of different forms of carbonizing materials, such as graphite powder and graphite particles. During the conveying process, problems such as material blockage, leakage, bridging, and particle separation should be avoided as much as possible. For equipment using screw conveyors or pneumatic conveyors, the conveying speed, pipe size, and feeding structure should be reasonably selected to ensure that the material continuously and stably reaches the feeding position.
3. Carbonizing Efficiency Requirements
The carbonizer should facilitate sufficient contact between graphite and high-temperature molten metal, improving the dissolution and absorption efficiency of carbon elements and reducing the burning loss and waste of carbonizing materials. The actual carbonizing efficiency is affected by various factors such as molten metal temperature, graphite particle size, material purity, feeding method, stirring conditions, and holding time; therefore, appropriate process parameters need to be determined through production trials.
4. Material and Structural Requirements
The frame, hopper, conveying pipes, and feeding components of the equipment should possess sufficient mechanical strength and structural stability to withstand vibration, impact, and material loads during normal operation. Components near molten metal should be made of heat-resistant materials selected based on the actual temperature and working environment, and necessary insulation and protective measures should be taken to prevent deformation or damage caused by high temperatures.
5. Automatic Control Requirements
Automatic graphite carburizers should have basic start-stop control, feed adjustment, and operating status monitoring functions. Depending on the equipment configuration, functions such as weighing feedback, material blockage alarm, overload protection, and emergency stop can also be set. The control system should be able to coordinate with the production equipment, reduce human error, and improve the stability and repeatability of the feeding process.
6. Safety and Environmental Requirements
Graphite carburizers should have necessary dustproof, protective, and safety interlock measures. For graphite powder, measures such as closed conveying and local dust removal should be taken to reduce the risk of dust diffusion. In areas involving combustible dust, corresponding explosion-proof measures should also be taken based on the dust characteristics and risk assessment. When the equipment is used for feeding molten metal, moisture should be prevented from entering the molten metal, and necessary heat insulation, anti-splashing, and personnel protection measures should be set up.
